how do i know if i need an infared survey?
If you’ve been served with a “Notice of required 40-Year Recertification of 40 Year Old Building(s)” from Miami-Dade County or your local City Building Department, it’s likely that you do. Or if you own/ are in charge or building maintenance and the building’s electrical systems are operating at much greater than 400 amps, it’s also likely that requesting an IR survey is right for you.
what seperates house of thermography from other thermographers?

Thermography/Infrared comes from infrared waves which are part of the electromagnetic spectrum. We can sense some infrared energy as heat. Some objects are so hot they also emit visible light—such as a fire does. Other objects, such as humans, are not as hot and only emit only infrared waves. Our eyes cannot see these infrared waves but instruments that can sense infrared energy—such as night-vision goggles or infrared cameras–allow us to "see" the infrared waves emitting from warm objects such as humans and animals.1
It is required for 40-Year Inspections if your electrical systems are operating at 400 amps or higher!2
In short, a Level II Certification is a written testimoney of qualification. The training required to obtain this certificate depends on the institution, but genereally, most curriculums are formed around the standards provided by the American Society of Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT), British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT), and the International Standards Orginazation (ISO).3
Miami-Dade County does require a Level II Cer tification from the thermographer in order to do the inspection along with having 7 years of experience at a minimum.2
All thermographers at House of Thermography do have 7+ years of experience performing electrical infrared surveys and are at a minimum Level II certified by the Infrared Training Center (ITC).
